Making your website work for recruitment, retention and proving your value

Your website is your best chance to show off as a membership body. It needs to demonstrate your unique value, while showcasing something people really want to be part of.

So why are so many membership websites boring, dated and a confusing mess? Common (we mean really common) member complaints include:

  • It’s clear they don’t have a clue what I’m interested in
  • The website is static from one month to the next, so why bother visiting regularly?
  • I can never find anything I want, so I end up Googling for it elsewhere anyway – for free

Is the cause a technology problem or a people problem?

Spoiler alert - the problem is not the tech – membership bodies with the same technology have wildly differing outcomes. It turns out the majority of problems stem from a lack of agreement on what members really value, and a lack of commitment to a member-centric approach to giving it to them.

About the webinar

In this webinar, we examined the current state of the art for membership body websites, and answered the questions:

  • What should I be aiming for? What do members value most?
  • Do I have to scrap what I have and start again, or can I fix it to make it work?
  • Where do I start on my cultural and technical issues?

The webinar examined some case studies of clients that have already made the journey and invited questions from delegates about their own challenges.

Who should attend?

This webinar is for anyone involved in websites, content and engaging membership.
